Well, it had to happen eventually: they have run out of names for minor league baseball teams. Why else would the San Diego Padres’ Triple-A affiliate that moved from Tuscon, Arizona to El Paso, Texas have named themselves the Chihuahuas?
Chihuahua’s general manager Brad Taylor said on Crave’s NESN website that they are just trying to create a new brand and are sticking by the name. A name, we might add, chosen by fans in an online poll over other selections like the Aardvarks, Buckaroos, Desert Gators and Sun Dogs.
