It’s not a huge surprise (especially since it was talked about all game long), but Crave’s NESN website reports Brandon Marshall got hit with a $10,500 fine for wearing green cleats during the Chicago Bears’ win over the New York Giants last Thursday.
Marshall expected the fine for wearing his bright green footwear. He even told the NFL beforehand that he would be violating the league’s apparel rules.
Marshall said he did it to call attention to Mental Health Awareness Week and was happy to pay the fine. Below is the letter from the NFL to Marshall informing him of the fine.
