The top 10 worst places in Britain have been revealed in the book Crap Towns Returns , the third compendium of the least loved places in the UK as voted for by the public.
The list features one or two dubious inclusions that we can’t say we agree with. Scroll through the gallery below and make your opinion heard in the comments section below.

Top 10 Worst Places in Britain Revealed
10. Stoke-on-Trent
It may be the birthplace of Slash (and, um, Robbie Williams) but that still didn't prevent Stoke-on-Trent from making it to number 10 on Crap Towns Returns' (s)hit llist. We hear it's got a nice ceramics collection in the Potteries Museum & Art Gallery, though, so that's something.
9. High Wycombe
High Wycombe was voted as the ninth worst town in Britain thanks to its abundance of chain stores and shady suburbs.
8. Nuneaton
Home of 19th century author George Eliot, Nuneaton's bleak shopping district seals its place at number 8 on the list.
7. Coventry
Crap Towns Returns isn't very strict when it comes to its criteria for voting, as proven by Coventry CITY's placing on this list. It's still an awful place to live, though.
6. Gibraltar
This British Overseas Territory is located closer to Spain than it is to Sunderland, but that still didn't prevent it from making it onto the list. It may not be the prettiest of holiday destinations, but at least it frequently gets good weather, which is more than you can say for anywhere else in Britain.
5. York
Somehow York's rich heritage and overall loveliness didn't charm the voters of the list. Maybe it's too pretty for it's own good?
4. Southampton
Despite being the "cruise capital of Europe" Southampton was unpopular enough with voters to feature just outside of the top 3 in Crap Towns' list.
3. Chipping Norton
This Cotswold market town looks nice and all, but it has the dubious honour of housing the likes of David Cameron, Jeremy Clarkson and Rebekah Brooks. Yeah, we think we'll give it a miss, thanks.
2. Bradford
Bradford's tourist site would lead you to believe that it's "a thriving cultural destination with a packed events calendar, award-winning museums, galleries and impressive theatres." That still didn't prevent it from making it to number 2 on this list, though.
1. London
First York, now London?! Yes, London does have its problems with overcrowding and the general expense of living there, but it's definitely not the worst place in Britain. We're assuming all the good will generated by the London 2012 Olympics is all but lost on this list's voters.
