Ricky Gervais has been approached by Wembley Arena to play a gig as The Office‘s David Brent.
Gervais recently resurrected the character for a Comic Relief charity special, and also put out a couple of hilarious YouTube “Guitar Tutorials”, one of which you can watch below. Watch the other by clicking right here.
After Gervais announced that he was going to be playing a couple of low-key “warm-up gigs” as Brent on Twitter, he was then approached by Wembley Arena to perform a set at the legendary stadium.
Speaking of the offer, Gervais said: “It’s amazing and hilarious. Having Wembley on the phone to talk about live gigs is far beyond what Brent could ever have imagined.
“I’ve played Wembley many times as a stand-up and it really is the greatest venue in the world. It will be perfect for Brent, too, as it’s not far from Slough.”
Gervais had a failed pop career in the 80s with his band Seona Dancing, but the comedian has now reportedly had many offers from major record companies to release a “Learn Guitar with David Brent” instructional CD.
