Recently it seems everyone is getting mentioned in connection with Star Wars Episode VII. (Alex Pettyfer and Rachel Hurd-Wood cropped up last week.)
Just days ago, Benedict Cumberbatch was dropped as a possible villain in J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars film. Tuesday, according to Crave’s CinemaBlend site, representatives for the Star Trek Into Darkness and Sherlock star denied the report.
“There is no truth to the rumour Benedict has been cast in Star Wars. I think the rumours are circling because JJ and Benedict have just recently had a wonderful time working together on Star Trek .”
The denial probably has about the same ratio of truth to speculation as did the initial report of Cumberbatch’s casting. So we’ll have to see if all the rampant Cumber-gossip was just that or something a little more significant.
