Being a member of One Direction must be equal parts fantastic and terrifying. On one hand, the majority of women between the ages of 18 – 40 want to tie you to their bed and make sweet love to your painstakingly preened boyband body. On the other hand, you’ve got to deal with the insane amount of pressure that comes with having a large amount of the world’s population wanting to dry hump you into another dimension.
Recently, the boys of One Direction graced the cover of GQ Magazine, and fans were not happy with the magazine’s depiction of the band’s floppy-haired ringleader Harry Style as a womaniser. “GQ MAGAZINE CAN GO F*** THEMSELVES WITH A CHAINSAW UP THEIR ASSHOLE TILL IT MUTLIATES THEIR INSIDES”, one 1D fan tweeted.
“HARRYS COVER SAYS HE UP ALL NIGHT TO GET LUCKY. @BritishGQ YOURE MAKING HIM SOUND LIKE A WHORE. HE’S NOT A F***ING WHORE YOU STUPID C****” tweeted another.
But these girls don’t seem to be the exception for 1D fans – they seem to be the rule. One Direction’s fanbase is filled with terrifyingly dedicated teenage girls, and below is a selection of videos highlighting this.
Harry Styles is mobbed
These girls are so overwhelmed with finally meeting Harry Styles that, rather than look at him, they instead spend their time looking at the screens of their phones, trying to adjust the camera accordingly in order to take a selfie with their idol. Inevitably, one girl is nearly crushed in the ensuing mayhem, but Harry picks her up by a true gentleman… before she proceeds to stare into the screen of her phone again.
Just another day for Zayn Malik
You know you’ve made it when you can make a girl faint just by touching her, and are so accustomed to this happening that you don’t even move off of your seat.
One Direction fan gets to be IN THE SAME ROOM as One Direction
Does anyone else feel an inexplicable urge to throw a boot at their computer screen while listening to this girl scream?
The perfect storm
Harry Styles here, swimming through an ocean of rabid teenagers.
Turn your speakers down.
If my sibling reacted to seeing a band she liked on the TV by screeching like a banshee, I wouldn’t lovingly laugh along with her and condone her behaviour. I’d check to see if I was adopted.
