On Tuesday, July 30, “Star Trek: The Next Generation Redemption” will hit Blu-ray with a remastered one-disc edition that combines the two-part “Redemption” episode into a feature length adventure.
Originally airing as the fourth season finale and fifth season premiere of “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Redemption” brings the long-simmering Klingon plotlines to a head as Captain Picard and the crew of the Enterprise are drawn into a Klingon Civil War between Gowron and the Duras sisters.
For Worf, the Civil War has personal implications and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reclaim his family’s honor by siding with Gowron. But the Duras sisters have allies of their own, including a familiar face from the past…
Ahead of this release, CraveOnline is proud to debut an exclusive behind-the-scenes video clip from “Star Trek: The Next Generation Redemption” that features Dan Curry explaining how he came up with the Bat’leth, a weapon that has become one of the most iconic Klingon symbols in Star Trek.
“Star Trek: The Next Generation Redemption” will also include audio commentary from Ronald D. Moore (“Battlestar Galactica”), and visual effects artists Mike and Denise Okuda as well as a new documentary, “Survive and Succeed: An Empire at War” that features new interviews with Moore, Michael Dorn, Robert O’Reilly and Gwynyth Walsh as they expand upon the evolution and mythology of the Klingons.
“Star Trek: The Next Generation – Season 4” will also make its Blu-ray debut on July 30.
