Norma Bates (Vera Farmiga) will get new lover next season on “Bates Motel.” Thankfully, it isn’t someone whom she’s related to.
TVLine is reporting that Michael Vartan has signed on for “Bates Motel” Season 2 on a recurring basis. Vartan will portray George, a man who is described as “a charming divorcé” who catches Norma’s romantic attention.
Vartan is best known for his five season stint on “Alias,” as well as his more recent tenure on “Hawthorne.” Vartan has also appeared in Never Been Kissed, The Pallbearer, One Hour Photo and Colombiana.
Two of the other new characters coming to “Bates Motel” are also in Norma’s orbit. Yet to be cast are Norma’s estranged brother, Caleb and Christine, a socialite who becomes Norma’s first real friend in White Pine Bay.
“Bates Motel” Season 2 will return to A&E in 2014.
