Marvel’s ‘Share Your Universe’ Gives Out Free Comic Stuff For Kids

There’s nothing an adult comic fan likes better than getting their progeny hooked on comics as well, thus building a shared interest and a guaranteed good time for parents and children alike. Luckily, that dovetails nicely with the Disney M.O. of getting kids hooked on their products almost from birth in order to up the odds of lifelong customership. Now that Marvel is a part of Disney, it’s time to get the ball rolling on the addiction.

Marvel has started a program called “Share Your Universe,” which gives away some free stuff in order to get your kids hooked on the pretty four colors – the first taste is always free, y’know. Take a look at what they’re offering.

1.) Free episodes of the blockbuster Marvel’s Avengers Assemble and Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man animated series, available via Xbox Video on Xbox 360 and Windows 8 until 7/15/13. Never mind that it doesn’t make any sense to refer to a TV show as a “blockbuster,” because blockbusters are movies that are so anticipated that they have lines around the block. Hence, block busting. You don’t line up for TV shows, yo.

2.) Free Marvel: Share Your Universe comic book, exclusively in participating comic book stores tomorrow, Wednesday July 10th. To find a comic shop near you, visit www.comicshoplocator.com or call 1-888-comicbook.

3.) Free all-ages Marvel digital comics available via the Marvel Comics app & Marvel Unlimited app (available on iPhone®, iPad®, iPad Touch® & Android™devices); Marvel Digital Comics Shop; and on MarvelKids.com.

4.) The all-new Share Your Universe Facebook page at Facebook.com/ShareYourUniverse, perfect for fans to get the latest info on family friendly Marvel activities and entertainment, and talk about the Marvel Moments they’ve enjoyed together.

5.) Weekly downloadable activities and episode guides posted to MarvelKids.com/ShareYourUniverse.

So there you go. A lot of new avenues through which you can turn the kids in your life on to good ol’ super-heroes. They’re the future of the art form, you know.
