Back in April, Syfy announced that Jamie Foxx had signed on with the network to write, direct and possibly guest star in a five part horror anthology series this October for the annual 31 Days Of Halloween programming event.
However, Deadline is now reporting that the still untitled project will not be coming this year due to “scheduling reasons.”
As originally described, Foxx’s untitled horror project was in the vein of “The Twilight Zone” and “Tales From The Crypt” in the way that twisted morality tales were explored against the backdrop of terror. At the time, Foxx said “This is a project that I’ve wanted to do for a long time and I’m so happy to see it come to life.”
It’s not clear if Foxx’s project will be held for October 2014, rescheduled for a non-Halloween release or dropped altogether. Foxx will reportedly talk to Syfy about the future of his horror project after his latest film, White House Down opens later this week.
