A woman in Thailand suffered the horror of a 20 kg and 13-foot long python coiled around her for about two hours before police rushed to her aid. The python bit her several times and kept squeezing tighter while the woman attempted to free herself. Moreover, even after she grabbed the snake’s head, she continued to live through the torture. Odds were stacked against the woman as she endured the agony for a long time. However, she eventually survived the near-fatal encounter.
Woman rescued after two hours of 44-pound python wrapping around her
A 64-year-old Thai woman named Arom Arunroj had an encounter with a 13-foot python inside her house in Samut Prakan, a province in Bangkok. According to The Guardian, Arunroj was washing up at about 8:30 p.m. when the incident took place. During an interview with a local news outlet, she said, “I looked at it, and it was a snake.” She even tried fighting the serpent and cried around for help.
CBS News reported that Arom Arunroj was about to scoop some water, but when she sat down, the snake bit her. The python wrapped itself around her torso, beating her down to the kitchen floor. At one point, the woman tried to grab the snake by its head, but the python only tightened its hold on her.
Eventually, her neighbor, Sgt Maj Anusorn Wongmali Anusorn heard her cries and called for help. He kicked down her door to see the snake wrapped around her. Describing the incident, he said, “She had probably been strangled for a while, because her skin was pale. It was a python, a big one. I saw a bite mark on her leg but [knew] there might be some elsewhere too.” Furthermore, he tried to even help the woman, trying to poke the snake and get it away from her.
After he rang for assistance at about 10 p.m., police arrived with members of the She Poh Tek Tung Foundation, a rescue organization. In the first responders’ footage of the 13-foot python encounter, Arunroj was on the floor with the snake wrapped around her waist. After rescuing her, they took her to the hospital for treatment.
