Well, this is an interesting twist in Donald Trump’s plot to take over America. (Again?) The FBI has raided his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.
The search warrant was executed on Monday due to an investigation of how the former president handled documents, some of them classified, that were suspected to be kept in the home, according to CNN.
Trump was apparently at Trump Tower in New York when the raid happened. In a statement on Monday evening, he confirmed that his home was raided.
“My beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents,” he said, claiming that the FBI “even broke into my safe.”
(Cue tiny violin.)
Yes, sir, they broke into your safe because generally, that’s where people keep important stuff they don’t want anyone else to get their hands on.
This is only the latest of myriad legal troubles that Trump is dealing with at this time – not that any of them have put a damper on his raging desire to run for president again in 2024.
We don’t care whose side you’re on (OK, yes we do, because there is only one right side and it ain’t Trump’s). What we can agree on is that Twitter is bringing all the funny to the situation – especially to that self-pitying “they even broke into my safe” quote.
