Karen faces hefty fine after headbutting crew on airplane

Karen Alert: Head-Butting Woman Duct-Taped to Seat Rakes in Hefty Fine

It’s that time of the day again, your much-deserved break for today’s daily Karen moment. While most airline crews may think catching any Covid variant is currently the greatest threat to their well-being aboard a flight, one woman gone wild who challenged that after UFC-style head-butting and spitting at them is paying for it now.

This unidentified woman, or simply Karen, was duct-taped to her seat aboard on an American Airlines flight last year after she allegedly attacked the crew and tried to open the cabin door like William Shatner in The Twilight Zone has been issued a record fine of  $81,950.

Karen’s flip-out was so grievous that it garnered a response from Transportation Secretary himself, Pete Buttigieg.

“Look, it’s one thing to be grumpy on a flight. I feel that way sometimes,” Secretary Buttigieg said Friday. “But it’s another thing to endanger flight crews and to endanger fellow passengers. We have no tolerance for that.”

Well said, future President.

The FAA said Karen “repeatedly” hit one of the crew members on the head and proceeded to bite, headbutt and kick other airplane passengers. Things got so out of hand that the crew was forced to duct-tape Karen to her seat, as well as put duct tape over her mouth. Some might say she was the trendsetter for duct-taped passengers around the world.

And all because they were out of Diet Coke.
