Here’s a new twist on the fairytale ending. In what could be the most predictable (yet shocking) turn of events inside the realm of celebrity housepets, Martha Stewart’s dogs have apparently murdered the housecat.
Lifestyle maven Martha Stewart reported the canine coup in an Instagram post honoring her beloved Princess Peony. In the photo, three men can be seen digging a shallow grave in the cold, wintry earth where Peony’s final resting place is to be.
According to Martha, her four dogs somehow mistook Princess Peony for an intruder and quickly dispatched with the pugnosed furball pictured below. In her statement, she wrote simply, “The four dogs mistook her for an interloper and killed her defenseless little self,” adding, “I will miss her very badly. RIP beauty.”
But the plot thickens. Last August Martha posted about cat-dog drama within the housepet parliament writing, “My cats feel liberated because the four dogs are away on vacation. Leaving the cats alone in the house to roam, relax, recover.” Incriminatingly, Peony can be seen pictured in last year’s gram, proving this puss was no stranger to the House of Stewart.
Although the famous homemaker provided scant little details about the harrowing ordeal, one thing is doggedly clear: Those four hounds sure got their story straight before the cops showed up.
And this whole time we thought we lived in a dog-eat-dog world. Turns out we were wrong.
