After two (long) years of delays, Morbius has finally arrived in theaters. The latest addition to Sony’s Spider-verse, Morbius, stars Jared Leto as the eponymous scientist who suffers from a rare blood disease that eventually turns him into a “living vampire.” Now, the reviews for Morbius have arrived, and it’s safe to say the blood has already been drained from this seemingly lifeless attempt to create the latest Marvel Anti-hero.
As the social media embargo for Morbius lifted yesterday, critics immediately took to Twitter to rip the film, which is being called “the worst Marvel movie.” Considering the utter dreck that was most of the pre-MCU Marvel movies, this is truly a monumental achievement for Jared Leto. But could it be that bad? As it turns out, Morbius seems to be the embodiment of the saying “our expectations were low for you, but HOLY FUCK.”
With a current score of 17% on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s safe to say that critics are looking to sink their fangs into this one. Check out some of the most hilarious first reactions to Morbius below:

Just watched Morbius & gosh the tears in my eyes. The plot, The themes, the characters, the dynamics, the drama, the lore, the emotional moments…everything was garbage from beginning to end. On my way to the hospital, definitely the worst movie I've ever seen pic.twitter.com/YoiVFjRN5e

#Morbius is the worst Marvel superhero movie in a long, long time. Mostly inert, sometimes laughable. And the scene where someone tries to summon a cat by shaking their litter box, only to assume the cat is gone when that doesn't work, is the weirdest thing I've seen in years. pic.twitter.com/tNHmN63Ug3

REVIEW: ‘MORBIUS’ was a phenomenal time at the movies. The 4D experience was astounding. Particularly when Jared Leto jumped out the screen, sucked my blood and then decided to take my ex-wife to dinner.

GOOD GOD#Morbius… horrendous editing, script, and story. Leto and Smith's acting couldn't make up for poorly written characters. The CGI made me feel like I was watching Fantastic Four '05, which is a far better film. Echoing another tweet I saw, it's a "charisma vacuum" 3/10 pic.twitter.com/Tb33ZFm3Iq

#Morbius is such a well-made film that manages to be effective in making the audience feel a lot of emotions. Such emotions are, pain, regret, depression. It also managed to evoke the largest reaction to a movie i've ever seen. The moment it ended, people were crying tears of joy pic.twitter.com/oE72uT0iY8
