Jimmy Kimmel Burns Hair During Thanksgiving Oven Mishap (But Is the Turkey OK?)

Celebrities – they’re just like us! Meaning they bungle important holiday meals just as badly as we do. Take, for example, Jimmy Kimmel. The late-night host recently revealed on Instagram that when he attempted to cook his Thanksgiving meal, he ended up getting burned – literally. Somehow, the entertainer managed to singe not only his hair but his eyebrows, too.

“Happy thanksgiving everyone. try not to burn your hair and eyebrow off lighting the oven!” he captioned the post, in which the 54-year-old showed off his crispy-fried locks.

The mishap apparently occurred while Kimmel was trying to light an outdoor oven. For those who’ve never had the displeasure, sometimes, when you’re lighting a pilot light, you let the gas run too long and when you strike a match, poof! There goes all your hair – facial, body, and otherwise. It can be quite a scary experience. Luckily for Kimmel, the damage appears to be minimal.

But we know what you’re really worried about – was the turkey OK? In a word: yes. Kimmel posted a subsequent photo that showed the fully-cooked bird, looking perfectly prepared with taut, dark skin outside and (we presume) juicy meat inside.

“Burnt hair-smoked turkey #happythanksgiving” he captioned the shot.

It’s not what we would’ve ordered for our Turkey Day menu, but we gotta admit: burnt hair-smoked turkey looks mouthwateringly delicious.
