Santa Claus Delivering Gifts

Meanwhile at Disneyland: Black Santa to Appear This Holiday Season As We Await Theme-Park Karen’s Viral Reaction

It’s about time. Disneyland will feature Black Santas at its U.S. theme parks this holiday season. In fact, a Black Santa has already appeared at both Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, and Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida – though only at after-hours Christmas parties. It’s the first time the brand has introduced any diversity into its Old Saint Nick line-up in its 66-year history.

Strangely, the travel industry behemoth has not made any big or even formal announcements of the inclusion of Black Santas into the holiday fold, but a spokesperson told CNN “that Santa Claus is represented in various ways in local and regional communities and around the world — and in that spirit, Santa Claus will reflect the diversity of surrounding communities at both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort.”

We can guess one reason why Disney is keeping its darker-skinned Kris Kringles on the down-low: the Karens. There’s guaranteed to be backlash, bitching and moaning, and mortifying videos of white women freaking out at the sight of a non-white big guy in the red suit. Cries of “Santa’s not Black!” will ring out across the land, louder than “Jingle Bells.”

We just have one question: Who’s going to be the brave soul to remind the angry hordes that Santa is imaginary?
