Ted Cruz Defending Nazi Salute Feels Right on the Money

Ted Cruz has aged very badly. Not just in his sallow, water-weight-filled cheeks or the fleshy gut that’s being held together by an expensive, yet ill-fitting suit. It’s his politics and obtuse self-confidence that have really aged like a soft cheese left in the sun. Just look at his latest logic vomit defending the right to salute Nazism.

As if we needed more proof of Cruz’s inability at civil leadership, the puffy-faced Texan with the eyes of a lamb was arguing against Covid restrictions in schools when he decided to casually throw a Nazi salute into the mix. Sure, why not?

In the exchange, Cruz asks, “General Garland, is doing a Nazi salute at an elected official, is that protected by the First Amendment?”

“Yes, it is,” Garland answers with his mouth while his face says, WTF is your point? See if you can decipher the Texas discombobulation machine below:

In his defense, Cruz posted to Twitter that he, “was defending the right of citizens to denounce authoritarian policies. In other words, to OPPOSE Nazis (or petty tyrants), not to support them.” In other words, Cruz is going balls deep on ironic Sieg Heils to defend people’s freedoms.

Hmmm. Like the way he went balls deep on the Texas Heartbeat Act which strips women of their right to choose? Or the way he applauded the anti-abortion whistle-blower website created to encourage Gestapo-like snitching on women who’d had an abortion? When he puts it like that, he almost sounds like a patriotic slab of roast beef.

While it isn’t a crime to throw up a Nazi salute, it’s not a great argument for literally anything on planet earth. Especially as a guy who supported a fellow flab-bag like Trump who openly shrugged at Nazism. Looks like Cruz might be transitioning into a new career as a performance artist to soften the blow when his reign as a supremely thick Senator comes to an end. When that day comes, we’ll celebrate with front-row seats.
