There’s no such thing as too-short shorts…that is, as long as we’re not the ones wearing them. But we understand why no one would want to show their booty off at work, even if their place of employment is Hooters.
In case you haven’t heard, the sexist excuse for a sports bar recently made a change to its standard uniform. If you need a refresher, here’s what it used to look like:

Now those itty bitty orange shorts? They got even tinier…to the point of barely being considered underwear.
A TikToker flagged the change in a now-viral video.

Soon, other Hooters servers followed suit, posting vids of the insanely minuscule bottoms. As this TikToker named Lexius noted, “soooo hooters got new panties. i mean shorts.”

“When they [Hooters corporate managers] explained it to us, they said, ‘They look like high-waisted bikini bottoms.’ But as you can tell, that’s not what we got,” Lexius told Buzzfeed. “My initial reaction was ‘Oh, these are gonna be cute if they’re high waisted.’ But then the next day I went to work and held it up, and I was like, ‘What do y’all think this is gonna cover? Because I have a butt.’”
She wasn’t the only one. A hilarious TikTok commenter said, “My roast beef would fall right out omg.”
Apparently, the young ladies caused enough of a stir on social media that Hooters backpedaled on the new uniforms, stating that servers could choose “which style of shorts best fits their body and image.”
But before we declare this a win for Hooters employees everywhere, we should also note the company changed its social media policy, too. Lexius told Buzzfeed that her managers told her the new corporate stance on platforms like TikTok was “no recording videos in the bathroom or break room at work, no recording videos or taking pictures at the bar. And if we aren’t at Hooters, we aren’t supposed to be taking pictures or videos in our uniforms outside.”
Uh-huh. Sounds to us like Hooters is all for show-and-tell as long as they’re calling the shots. Until this mess gets figured out, consider spending your hard-earned food money anywhere but this misogynistic shit-show of an establishment.
