If you’re unsure if you’re addicted to social media or not, just wait until there’s an outage. Then watch how you react. For millions of Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp fans, the moment of truth arrived today as all three platforms went down.
While some of us simply noticed that these sites weren’t working, checked our internet connections, then turned our attention to our other responsibilities in the real world, there was a large contingent that freaked the fuck out and went to the only place they could – Twitter – to vent and commiserate with others who weren’t getting their usual hit of serotonin.
We don’t know how long it will take until Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp are back online, but in the meantime, there’s no better way to spend the day than laughing it up on Twitter (which we all knew was the superior social media platform anyway, right?).
