Some people see how many times they can fold a gum wrapper in half when they’re board. If you’re a bit more daring (and unintelligent), you might put your arm on a hot coil or attempt to snort a condom up your nose.
Whatever our fancy, the Japanese have you beat with their borderline unnatural ability to polish balls. Tinfoil balls, that is.
Back in March, do-it-yourselfer and YouTube personality SKYtomo uploaded the video above detailing just how much effort goes into turning a wadded-up piece of tinfoil into a work of art (more or less). That, or he’s just a huge fan of Mr. Terrific from DC Comics lore. That seems highly unlikely, though, as we’re guessing you’re looking him up right now just to understand the reference.

A current Japanese trend is polishing tin foil balls into perfection…
Not only do you end up with a pretty nifty and lightweight aluminum monument to your efforts in the end, but judging by many of the comments on the video, it can be quite therapeutic on top of it. If that’s truly the case, then you really are saving yourself mad money on psychiatrist bills, and that’s something we can all celebrate.
