Even if that band is the Goo Goo Dolls?

According to UNILAD, a recent study conducted by an expert in behavioral science and associate lecturer at Goldsmith’s University in London suggests that treating yourself to a live music experience is better for your overall wellbeing than taking a yoga class.

“Our research showcases the profound impact gigs have on feelings of health, happiness and wellbeing – with fortnightly or regular attendance being the key,” Patrick Fagan said. “Combining all of our findings with O2’s research, we arrive at a prescription of a gig a fortnight which could pave the way for almost a decade more years of life.”

To come to that conclusion, Fagan fitted volunteers with heart rate monitors, split them up and then sent them to a Paloma Faith gig, a yoga session or out to walk their dog. Either live music works wonders on a human being’s wellbeing or Paloma Faith is the fucking shit because those who attended her concert saw their mood and level of wellbeing increase by 21 percent.

Those who went to yoga? Yeah, just an unbelievable waste of time, as those volunteers only saw an uptick of 10 percent. Meanwhile, those who were tasked with walking their dogs only saw their level of wellbeing only go up seven percent.

It is worth noting, however, that 100 percent of the dogs that were walked disagree with Fagan’s research.
