This is why we can’t have nice shit, people.
According to The Daily Wire, a “tipster” hit up the crew at The Seattle Times last weekend to let them know somebody in the Greenwood neighborhood was flying a Confederate flag. Was it because they were white supremacists? Was it because they were huge Dukes of Hazzard fans? The tipster wanted to know.
“Hi. Suddenly there is a Confederate flag flying in front of a house in my Greenwood neighborhood,” the concerned citizen wrote. “It is at the north-east corner of 92nd and Palatine, just a block west of 92nd and Greenwood Ave N. I would love to know what this ‘means’… but of course don’t want to knock on their door. Maybe others in the area are flying the flag? Maybe it’s a story? Thank you.”
Of course, the Times sent somebody over there to get the scoop on these jerks who had the nerve to bring controversy to an otherwise nice place to live. And sure enough, they found the flag and its owner, and they asked him why he was flying it.
“That’s a Norwegian flag,” the flag owner said. “It’s been up there since the start of the Olympics. I’m a proud Norwegian-American. My parents emigrated here in the mid-1950s. He skippered tugboats.”
Yep. This is the Norwegian Flag:
And this is the Confederate’s flag:
And boom goes the dynamite. Perhaps the bigger story here would be tracking down the “tipster” and trying to pinpoint the exact moment of his or her life that he or she became a freaking idiot. I mean while we’re at it, north-east is just northeast for Christ’s sake.
