āI still love you, but more like a friend at this point,ā isnāt something you would normally write to a gym, but hey, 2018, kids.
According to HuffPost,Ā Reddit user Robert Scucci, who might be better known to the masses as āMastrrbasser,ā recently posted the letter he was forced to send to Planet Fitness in order to officially cancel his membership.
Scucci recently moved fromĀ Milford, Connecticut to Nashville, Tennessee, and he tried to cancel his Planet Fitness membership over the phone. The powers that be told him he couldnāt do it over the phone, so he had to either show up to his Connecticut gym in person or send a letter via ācertified mail.ā
Since Tennessee to Connecticut is quite the hike, Scucci decided to not only send a letter but also have a little fun with it, and weāre all winners today because of it.
āPlanet Fitness wouldnāt let me cancel over the phone,ā Scucci said. āIĀ figured Iād have fun with it because you can either get really mad at something like this or just waste somebodyās time by sending them something official that they then have to take seriously.ā
So thatās exactly what Scucci did. He had some āfunā with it by writing a hysterical ābreak up letterā to Planet Fitness, complete with the whole āitās not you, itās meā and āI still think fondly of youā routines.
Planet Fitness wouldnāt let me cancel over the phone, and required a certified letter to cancel since I live in a different state now. I dropped this in the mail today. from r/funny
Who knows? Maybe Scucci can make some cash on the side by writing break up letters for other people looking to move on to better things. I mean, that was nothing short of genius.
