ā€œI still love you, but more like a friend at this point,ā€ isnā€™t something you would normally write to a gym, but hey, 2018, kids.

According to HuffPost,Ā Reddit user Robert Scucci, who might be better known to the masses as ā€œMastrrbasser,ā€ recently posted the letter he was forced to send to Planet Fitness in order to officially cancel his membership.

Scucci recently moved fromĀ Milford, Connecticut to Nashville, Tennessee, and he tried to cancel his Planet Fitness membership over the phone. The powers that be told him he couldnā€™t do it over the phone, so he had to either show up to his Connecticut gym in person or send a letter via ā€œcertified mail.ā€

Since Tennessee to Connecticut is quite the hike, Scucci decided to not only send a letter but also have a little fun with it, and weā€™re all winners today because of it.

ā€œPlanet Fitness wouldnā€™t let me cancel over the phone,ā€ Scucci said. ā€œIĀ figured Iā€™d have fun with it because you can either get really mad at something like this or just waste somebodyā€™s time by sending them something official that they then have to take seriously.ā€

So thatā€™s exactly what Scucci did. He had some ā€œfunā€ with it by writing a hysterical ā€œbreak up letterā€ to Planet Fitness, complete with the whole ā€œitā€™s not you, itā€™s meā€ and ā€œI still think fondly of youā€ routines.

Planet Fitness wouldnā€™t let me cancel over the phone, and required a certified letter to cancel since I live in a different state now. I dropped this in the mail today. from r/funny

Who knows? Maybe Scucci can make some cash on the side by writing break up letters for other people looking to move on to better things. I mean, that was nothing short of genius.
