I hate spiders as much as the next person, but if I happen to run into spiders I’m going to take my chances and step on them instead of trying to kill it with fire. Why? Well the story that follows should answer that question.
A Northern California man was so pissed off by the big spider he saw in his apartment over the weekend that he decided to kill it using fire. The only problem is that he set fire to his entire apartment, forcing other tenants to pack up and go. Nice job, dude.

“It was a huge wolf spider,” Lyndsey Wisegarver, a caregiver to one of the residents of the apartment that caught fire, said.
According to Wisegarvger, the man used a torch-style lighter to try and kill the spider after seeing it in his bedroom. While the fire didn’t kill the spider instantly, the burning spider did run into a mattress, setting it on fire — a fire that spread to the drapes and a flag collection.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire before it spread to other units, but it still caused an estimated $11,000 in damages. Tenants were forced to move because of the uninhabitable apartments.
