I still remember that I once left a Polaroid camera near the Christmas tree on Christmas eve with a letter that instructed Santa Claus to take a photo of himself to prove that he’s real. I’d like to think that I was a clever kid. But I definitely wasn’t as bold as the six-year-old kid in this story — a kid that decided to call out Santa.
Since the holiday season is here, plenty of kids have begun writing letters to Santa to inform him what they want to find under their tree. But one kid decided that he was going to use his Christmas letter to tell Santa exactly how he feels about him. NPR reporter Sarah McCammon shared the letter that her son wrote.
My 6yo Santa skeptic was told to write a letter to Santa at school. So he did… pic.twitter.com/XUFGMnXDFT

The letter reads:
Dear Santa,
Santa Im only doing this for the class. I know your notty list is emty. And your list list is emty. and your life is empty. You dont know the trouble Ive had in my life. Good bye.
Love
Im not tell you my name
Harsh.
McCammon also noted that the margin is decorated with wreaths and skulls, and made sure to add some clarification on her son’s “troubles.”
PS – the “troubles” in his life? His brother. Don’t call child services.

And Twitter was loving this kid’s letter.

Ah, when you have one of those children destined to grow up to be either a genius or a serial killer. Those are the best children!

i think if a six year old told me my life is “emty” in that ruthlessly honest way kids speak, i would really have to take a hard look at myself and search for where i lost my way
