Everyone is angry at something these days, and I totally get it. But being upset at a food that is shaped like a penis is pretty insane and yet that is exactly what is happening out in Bangkok. Let us explain.
A restaurant called “Pho Hai Ma,” which translates to “I Got It From My Dad,” is in the news after the place’s owner, Ketnita Prasertsomboon created a cheese and sausage waffle shaped like a penis. And guess what? A famous Thai chef named Yingsak Chonglertjetsadawong (what a name) is boycotting the waffles because it offends him apparently.
Here’s what Yingsak said about all this:
“From my time in the food industry, I never thought I would encounter food shaped like genitalia. Would you buy this for your parents? Would you put this in a monk’s alms bowl? If a girl aged 7 or 8 was eating it on the street, is that something you’d want to see?”
Something tells me a 7-year-old’s parents wouldn’t buy her some penis-shaped waffles.
“Some women take photos of themselves about to eat the waffles, or even videos of themselves eating one to post online,” Yingsak adds. “It’s inappropriate and a bad example for the youth.”

Or it’s hilarious. Ketnita also chimed in on the waffle that is making Yingsak fume.
“Some people told me that I’m doing something obscene and un-Buddhist. I got a bit stressed, but I didn’t fight back. I just want people to view it as a snack.”
When it comes down to eat it’s just a breakfast food, so everyone needs to shut up and enjoy their penis.
