This isn’t the first time something like this has happened, as unfortunately there are many people out there who are dumb and selfish enough to drive while intoxicated. But the reason I just had to write this is up is for one and one reason only: this woman’s mugshot. First, a little backstory.
Brandy Lerma, a 31-year-old from, you guessed it, Florida, was spotted by a tow trunk driver driving erratically as her car swerved left and right through traffic, nearly missing other vehicles. The tow truck driver noticed that Lerma had an unrestrained child in the backseat so of course he reached out to police.
And police caught up to her.
The responding deputy pulled Lerma over and verified the concerned citizen’s fear. The deputy’s report says there was an unrestrained 3-year-old in the back seat. The deputy noted Lerma’s speech was slurred and a smell of alcohol coming from her car.
Lerma took two breathalyzer tests, both of which showed a blood alcohol content more than twice Florida’s legal limit of .08. The report says her blood alcohol content read .200 and .187. Deputies say Lerma admitted she had been drinking and was also taking prescriptions including Percocet and Xanax. She was also given a sobriety test, during which deputies say she fell over two times.
Lerma is now facing charges of driving under the influence and child abuse. And kudos to that tow truck driver for helping to prevent what could have been a tragic situation. Oh, and you’re here for Lerma’s mugshot, right? Check it out.
Looks like she’s a tad surprised she was busted.
