Here’s a story that might get your panties in a bunch.

According to BBC News, a five-year-old girl was recently fined 150 British pounds (roughly $195) because she set up a lemonade stand outside of the Lovebox Festival in London’s Victoria Park. The reason for the fine? You guessed it: She was “trading without a license.”

Again, she’s five.

Four “enforcement officers” watched the little girl do some “trading” and then approached her stand to issue the citation. Her father Andre Spicer was none too pleased about it.

“I was quite shocked,” Spicer said. “I thought that they would just tell us to pack up and go home. But they turned on their mobile camera and began reading from a big script explaining that she did not have a trading license.”

“My daughter clung to me screaming ‘Daddy, Daddy, I’ve done a bad thing,'” Spicer continued. “She’s five. We were then issued a fine of £150. We packed up and walked home.”

It wasn’t just Spicer whose ass was pretty chapped after the incident, as even the Tower Hamlets Council realized that their officers were nothing short of gigantic assholes.

“We are very sorry that this has happened,” they said. “We expect our enforcement officers to show common sense and to use their powers sensibly. This clearly did not happen. The fine will be cancelled immediately and we have contacted Mr. Spicer and his daughter to apologize.”

No word as to why the four enforcement officers took so much time out their day to hassle the young girl. Sounds like there must have been a shortage of old men in the vicinity to push down the stairs.
