IHOP Waitress Arrested After Pulling Knife On Family Who Complained About Her Service

It takes a special kind of asshole to pull a knife on somebody at IHOP, but there’s probably a VIP section reserved for you in hell when two of the human beings you pull a knife on are special needs kids.

According to the Daily Mail, that’s allegedly what happened at a New York IHOP Sunday after a family of four complained of poor service. For whatever reason, the manager of the Massapequa restaurant asked the family to leave, and the family apparently did just that.

But the mother said as she, her husband and her two special needs children under the age of four were making their way toward the exit, they overheard a waitress make a comment about the kids. The waitstaff then surrounded the family, and that’s when the argument really got heated, as Rhonda Kelly, the waitress who allegedly provided the poor service to the family, grabbed a steak knife and threatened them.

Police arrived on the scene and arrested Kelly for menacing, but franchise owner Camile Gnolfo says the employees “reacted to what they viewed as an immediate threat to their personal safety.” You know, the kind of threat where pulling a steak knife on two special needs kids is the only solution.
