Move over police cadets caught having sex during training day, and cops ignoring robbery alert on radio because you were too busy hooking up — you have some company now. And it comes all the way from Tennessee. Let us explain.
A sheriff in Tennessee named Charles Cravens has actually admitted to hooking up with two female inmates, and has pleaded guilty to three counts of honest services fraud and one count of deprivation of rights under color of law. Whoops.
Court documents reveal that Cravens summoned a female inmate to his office last summer, and then proceeded to have unprotected sex with her. The following month, Cravens once again had sex with the same female inmate, but this time around another female inmate joined them and they all had a threesome in a vacant trailer after he drove all of them there.
According to WKRN, Cravens “maintained sexual relationship with these inmates for several months until they were released from jail. The most recent release was in February 2017.” And there’s more.
The investigation reportedly also revealed Cravens drove a third inmate out of Fentress County to visit a relative this past February and, on the way back to jail, raised the subject of sex. The two then had unprotected sex inside his vehicle. Cravens is accused of sleeping with this inmate on at least one other occasion.
Cravens also used his position to grant more benefits to these inmates, all in exchange for sex. Cravens of course has resigned from the position.
If convicted, Cravens is looking at 20 years behind bars for each count of honest services fraud. Damn. Hope the sex was worth it, buddy.
