They say that there’s plenty of fish in the sea, but one kid didn’t care to hear about that and now his brother is dead.
When he was just 15-years-old, Dakota Thornton from Pennsylvania killed his brother Dominick over the most ridiculous reason: a girl. That’s right. Apparently, Dakota was upset that his 18-year-old brother was dating the woman he was into. So he shot him with a shotgun. Insane.
Almost one year later, Dakota, now 16, has pleaded guilty to third-degree murder for killing his bro in their apartment. Now, he is pretty much screwed.

According to PennLive, no plea deal was reached, and since Dakota pleaded guilty, he can spend as little as seven and a half years behind bars, or up to 45 years in prison.
If Dakota’s case had gone to juvenile court, he would not have been in prison past 21 years of age, but Dakota was charged as an adult and will have to spend some time with the big boys for his crime.
Dakota will be sentenced in June.
