It’s not often that you hear of somebody sacrificing their baby and being hailed as a hero for it, and that alone is a great reason to read on.
According to Jalopnik, a 41-year-old Tesla Model S driver who was taking his “baby” for a joyride down the Autobahn outside of Munich Tuesday night noticed a Volkwagen Passat “swerving erratically” and repeatedly slamming into the guardrail. But instead of flooring it and flying by what could have been anything from a drunk driver to a dude getting the hummer of a lifetime, the Tesla driver approached with caution and saw that the driver behind the wheel of the Passat was unconscious.
Despite the fact that he knew he was going to wreck his $70,000 “baby,” the dude did the unthinkable and sacrificed his Tesla to bring the Volkswagen to a halt before it did any serious damage to other drivers. As it turned out, the Volkswagen driver likely suffered a stroke, and the Tesla driver’s actions were nothing short of life-saving.

Well, it wasn’t just the responding paramedics and Volkswagen driver’s family who took notice of this hero’s selfless act, as news of his sacrifice made it all the way to the desk of Elon Musk, who decided to reward the man with free and expedited repairs to his “baby.”
In appreciation, Tesla is providing all repair costs free of charge and expedited. https://t.co/D68HNJcCoQ

In a related story, if the guy behind the wheel of the Volkswagen really would have been getting that hummer of a lifetime instead of suffering a stroke, we still would have covered the story. Good day.
