Since my folks probably didn’t feel it would be right to stretch their creative muscles when it came to my tardy notes, they couldn’t write that I was busy sobbing because I didn’t want to get out of bed (which was usually the reason I was late). But one Utah dad has made sure to let his children’s school know exactly why they’ve been late.
Seth King has had to write a lot of lateness notes for his four kids — Carson, Sophia, Nolan and Liam — and because of that he’s had plenty of practice to write up the most perfect notes.
“I hoped that this new late note style would motivate my then middle school teenagers to make a greater effort to minimize/eliminate their teenage tardiness tendency,” Seth explains. “I want them to know that life is hard and decisions have consequences. But above all their parents love them, they’re cared for, we have their back, and it’s important to smile, laugh, and always look on the bright side.”
