Get your bottles of boner pills ready, guys, because if this story from the New York Times is true, you’re going to need them.
According to “Fashion & Style” writer Hayley Phelan, women are beginning to trade in their thongs for granny panties because “it’s considered cool to be wearing full-bottom underwear.” And sadly, there are numbers to back it up.
Not only did the sales of fuller styles of panties like briefs, boy shorts and high-waist briefs increase by 17 percent, but the sales of thongs also decreased seven percent. That’s bad news for guys, but it’s apparently great news for millennial women like Julia Baylis who recognize that “the slight indignity of showing a subtle panty line trumps the major indignity of having a piece of cloth yanked up their backside for 16 hours.”
“I only wear granny panties,” Baylis said. “Most lingerie is designed to appeal to a man. For us, that’s not even a consideration. This is the underwear you wear totally for you.”
Sigh.
