If you’re looking for something more ironic than Melissa McCarthy starting her own activewear line, then this is the story for you.
According to KCCI, a 33-year-old sixth-grade teacher at Lenihan Intermediate School was placed on administrative leave earlier this week after school officials said she was drunk on the job.
Drunk is one way to put it, but after “sobriety tests” revealed Carissa Bryant had a BAC of .19, it’s safe to say she was more like absolutely hammered.
Another teacher alerted the school district office Wednesday afternoon that Bryant was potentially under the influence of alcohol, and when police arrived at the school, they noticed she had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.
Ironically, Bryant’s public intoxication episode came on the same day her students were being taught the dangers of drugs and alcohol by a county deputy as part of the DARE program. No word if officers put Bryant in cuffs and walked her past her students, but if they were really looking to get their point across, nothing would have been more powerful than that.
