Florida Man Shot by Father as He Tried to Flee Scene on Riding Mower

Let’s be honest. A headline that involves a father shooting his son who was so stupid that he thought he could flee a family argument on a riding lawnmower only makes sense when it comes out of Florida.

According to the New York Daily News, a 71-year-old man has been charged with aggravated battery after he allegedly shot his son in the neck following a family argument Friday night.

An Escambia County Sheriff’s Office spokesman said Marshall Harmon jumped in his pickup truck in an effort to catch up to his 32-year-old son who had fled the scene of the family feud on a riding lawnmower.

Harmon soon caught up with his son on a county road and allegedly fired two shots, one of which hit his son in the neck. It’s still unknown whether Harmon intended to hit his son or if the bullet struck him accidentally.

No word on whether or not booze played a factor during the argument, but from the looks of Harmon’s mugshot, if it wasn’t booze, then maybe high blood pressure or severe sunburn played a part. Also no word on why in the hell the son didn’t take the truck instead of the riding mower.
