Sundance 2014 VIDEO: Leigh Whannell & Ian Brennan on Cooties

Ten years ago, screenwriter Leigh Whannell premiered the now-classic horror movie he wrote and starred in, Saw, at the Sundance Film Festival. The rest was history. Will lightning strike twice with this year’s Cooties, the horror comedy he co-wrote with “Glee’s” Ian Brennan, about a group of teachers trapped in an elementary school by homicidal, infected pre-pubescent kids? Let’s find out in this video interview with screenwriters and Cooties co-stars Leigh Whannell and Ian Brennan, with a special guest appearance by Rainn Wilson.

We asked Leigh Whannell to compare the reaction to Cooties with the original reaction to Saw at Sundance, why they chose the roles they played in the final movie, how they played with the killer kid genre and also referenced Die Hard in the process, and finally end on a serious note, trying to raise awareness of cooties and the preventative care methods now available in schools across the country. (Bibbs gives Ian Brennan a cooties shot.)
