Not only was he extremely blunt about it, but President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige trusted Joss and his track record so much that he gave him complete control of a total rewrite.
I’m glad that happened the way it did, because many, many people were very happy with the way the film turned out and wouldn’t have been satisfied with an inadequate handling of the material. Box office numbers ($1.5 billion worldwide gross) proved that to be a common sentiment.
