After a social media push that forced fans to tweet using character-specific hashtags before Paramount would release a new trailer and four new character posters for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the madness has abated, and we can finally just present you with that content. We hope you didn’t get too swept up in that fervor: holding marketing material they were just going to release anyway as a hostage until the target demo gives you a bunch of free advertising is pretty messed up. You’d think the heroic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles wouldn’t be cool with that, but then again these are new Turtles for a new generation, and come to think of it they were never terribly averse to selling out.
You can watch the newly released Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer above, and get a much better look at the characters and plot of Jonathan Liebesman’s reboot, which hits theaters on August 8, 2014. Plus, Megan Fox actually gets to talk this time! Briefly. To Whoopi Goldberg.
