Zendaya’s Louis Vuitton Gown for 2024 Gotham Awards Is Completely Backless

Zendaya‘s slinky low-back Louis Vuitton gown for the 2024 Gotham Awards is a nod to her outstanding Tennis performance in the “Challengers” movie. Additionally, the actor accepted the 2024 Spotlight Tribute Award for nailing the role of player Tashi Duncan in the film. She previously rocked several similar looks during the movie’s press tour and is once again bringing some iconic looks to the red carpet with awards season official afoot. The 2024 Gotham Awards red carpet photos show the 28-year-old flaunting her bare back in a white floor-length dress, looking elegant as always.

Zendaya paired a white Louis Vuitton gown with Bvlgari jewels

It’s no secret that Zendaya‘s brilliant role in Luca Guadagnino’s “Challengers” movie has remained in the 2024 spotlight, finally landing her a Gotham Award. On Monday, she wore an off-white low-back custom Louis Vuitton dress to the red carpet event. There, the star accepted the Spotlight Tribute award for capturing the true essence of her role in the tennis movie in which she starred alongside Josh O’Connor and Mike Fast. On the other hand, her outfit was a body-hugging floor-length gown that completely bared her back. The outfit also had a halter neck design that she paired with a sleek ponytail and statement jewelry.

Later, Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach, told Vogue how they masterminded the ensemble using the Nicolas Ghesquière-designed backless double satin dress. Roach claimed, “We love collaborating with Nicolas,” explaining that Ghesquière’s designing approach has a hint of “intelligence” that they appreciate. And so, Roach expressed his wish to create something sleek and elegant for Zendaya. He then opined that the dress was “really pretty—simple, sexy, and very modern.” Additionally, she added Bvlgari jewelry to round off the attire.

Finally, Roach admitted that Zendaya’s dress for the 2024 Gotham Awards was a more subtle nod to the “Challengers” movie. “It feels in the same vein as this character we created for Tashi Duncan, but it’s not as character-driven as the press tour,” he said. The stylist also commented on how the dress mainly captures the actor’s present stance in life and only “a little carry-over” for Tashi.
