Angelina Jolie’s Black Gown Has the Right Amount of Boldness

Not a lot of people can pull off an all-black look with as much style or grace as Angelina Jolie. The actor recently sported the all-black look during her appearance at the Metropolitan Opera’s Tosca Gala in New York. Although minimal, Jolie looked every bit as glamorous as one would expect. She wore a plunging black gown, pairing it with an overcoat-like shawl. Jolie also opted for a chic glam look as she included glittery accessories to go with her outfit. The star was accompanied by “Maria” director Pablo Larraín for the evening.

Angelina Jolie cozied up in an all-black outfit at the Metropolitan Opera’s Tosca Gala on Tuesday. The actor wore a long black draped gown featuring a plunging V-neckline and a draped bodice. A wrap detail divided the gown elegantly into a blouse and skirt. The upper portion boasted ruffled patterns, making their way into a flowy plain skirt. Jolie paired it with a paisley-patterned shawl wrapped around her shoulders.

The shawl was a slight deviation from Jolie’s staple outerwear — trench coats. However, the shawl’s velvet fabric and botanical patterns provided a fresh change while elevating the ensemble’s aesthetics. Moreover, the actor opted for an unconventional shorter shawl that made for a captivating look. She captured the essence of eveningwear most tastefully with the all-black outfit.

Angelina Jolie further went with shining diamond jewelry to complement her all-black outfit. She wore a slim necklace with a chunky pendant, dangling earrings, and a ring. She styled her hair in a half-up, half-down style and opted for more somber makeup, including smokey eyeshadow and a glossy lip.

Previously, the actor donned another all-black outfit a day before for “Maria” screening in New York City. She wore a black maxidress with off-the-shoulder sleeves. The simple yet sophisticated look is not only a classic wardrobe staple but also in tune with Angelina Jolie’s minimalistic fashion.
