It just wouldn’t be Comic-Con without at least one Jane Austen adaptation, but fortunately Burr Steers was there to deliver. The director of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies emerged to take to Crave about his strange new film, and tell us more about the violent yet totally repressed mayhem he plans to unleash in theaters on February 5, 2016.
Burr Steers tells us a lot more about his adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, the challenges of creating a zombie movie that is also a period piece, and just how violent the film is going to get. After all, zombies or no zombies, it’s still Pride and Prejudice. Isn’t that one of the most chaste stories ever written?
Well, yes, but Burr Steers assures us that Pride and Prejudice and Zombies will bring the action, and that in the film, killing zombies is basically the same as sex.
