“The real war is between the living and the dead. And make no mistake, the dead are coming.”
Ser Davos Seaworth sees the truth in the new trailer for Game of Thrones . Davos was always a sensible man, but perhaps he’s cursed to be the Cassandra of this story. No one will believe him until the White Walkers and their army of the undead breach the Wall and invade the North.
Behold the real enemy: the Night’s King. Game of Thrones fans caught a glimpse of him in the fourth season before he returned last season at the Battle of Hardhome. The Night’s King is all over the new GoT t railer, as he finally comes to the forefront.
The new trailer also features several intriguing moments including Tyrion’s encounter with Daenerys’ dragons, the Mother of Dragons herself as Daenerys is stripped and made a slave again, and the steady progression of Jorah Mormont’s grayscale infection that may ultimately claim his mind and his life. There is also a surprising mourner for the late Jon Snow, but perhaps he will play a part in allowing Jon Snow to walk again as a member of the living. And back in King’s Landing, a war between the Faith Militant and the King’s forces seem inevitable as the High Sparrow is threatened by a very familiar face.
