Lots of movies at this year’s SXSW Film Festival have trailers, posters and still photographs, but the makers of Operator don’t just want you to preview their movie, they want you to pre-LISTEN to it as well.
The new film stars Martin Starr (Silicon Valley) as a man who designs personalities for digital customer service voices, who decides to model his latest creation after his wife, played by Mae Whitman (Parenthood). The dark comedy has been scored by award-winning composer Sage Lewis, who also contributed the music for this year’s virtual reality SXSW selection, The Surrogate, which has been nominated in this year’s Interactive Innovation Awards.
