Jane Levy Moves to Stephen King’s ‘Castle Rock’

Between The Evil Dead remake and Don’t Breathe, Jane Levy has established herself as a modern age scream queen. And soon, she’ll have a lot more to scream about as one of the leading players in Castle Rock, the upcoming drama series based on the works of Stephen King.

Hulu has announced that Levy has signed a one-season to deal to appear on Castle Rock as Jackie, a young woman who appoints herself as Castle Rock’s “historian.” Levy previously starred in the lead of ABC’s Suburgatory sitcom. Hulu also revealed that Carrie star, Sissy Spacek has also joined Castle Rock as Ruth Deaver, the estranged adoptive mother of Henry Deaver, as played by Andre Holland.

Castle Rock isn’t based on any single Stephen King story. Instead, it draws upon elements that previously appeared in his short stories, his novelas, books, and other ancillary material. The series will essentially be a mashup of the Stephen King multiverse, and it will take place in the fictional small town of Castle Rock.

•Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason developed Castle Rock for television with J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions set to produce the series. The show is likely to begin filming later this year, but there hasn’t been an announced start date for the filming or the release date. But if we had to guess, a 2018 premiere seems likely.
