The supposed “leak” of Forza X has been revealed as fake, with developer Turn 10’s studio head Alan Hartman debunking an image that appeared to show a screenshot from an upcoming Forza Motorsport sequel.
A photo of what appeared to be a screenshot taken from a new Forza game began doing the rounds late last week, with it reportedly showing a secret presentation of the game being held by Microsoft. The Forza X title led many to speculate that this was a reference to the potential name of the upcoming 4K-ready Xbox One, which has been codenamed the Xbox One Scorpio, with it being rumored that it could be called either the Xbox X or the Xbox One X.

While we’ll undoubtedly see a new Forza game make use of the Xbox One Scorpio’s improved technology in the future, it seems that Forza X isn’t on the cards. Meanwhile, Microsoft has remained tight-lipped in regards to the official name for its next Xbox, and while Xbox One X is certainly a possible name — especially considering the slimmer version of the console was given the name Xbox One S — nothing has been confirmed thus far.
