The gaming community is flipping out over what appears to be leaked information regarding the new cover for NBA 2K17.
If the below screen capture is accurate, the main cover will feature Indiana Pacers guard Paul George.
The image comes from an ‘extreme gamer’ named Scott Burress, who said he took it from a since-deleted PS4 preorder listing on Sony’s website.
In addition to the Paul George cover will also be two limited-edition Kobe Bryant “Legends” covers.
An official announcement is expected Wednesday.
For those who don’t follow too much basketball, George is still a solid choice. He’s a three-time All-Star who can dunk, drain the three, and a guy who is one of the premiere defensive players in the game. If not for a gruesome 2014 leg injury that held him out for a year, everyone would know his name, including your mother.
Give it another year. And congrats to the state of Indiana, who have an athlete on the cover of something.
