It looks like Ed Sheeran has just received a gift to mark his friendship with the king of spin himself Shane Warne, the UK popstar being photographed recently unwrapping a bong shaped like the legendary cricketer and former Mr Liz Hurley.
Currently in Australia on holiday with his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn, it was unclear whether he bought or was sent the bong, with the photo posted to Instagram by Gatrobeug -the company who made the bong – sporting the caption: “Yeah so Ed Sheeran somehow got a Shane Warne bong.”
The 25-year-old is sporting a sneaky grin as he poses with the “Speed Dealer Warnie” bong, either excited to try it out or just amazed at the resemblance. Or both. It’s probably both. The hand-made smoking device does bear a striking similarity to Warney, sporting spot on details like dark shades and 24 carat gold Nike earrings.
Sheeran and Warne are reported to be close friends, for some reason, with the two said to regularly text and exchange Twitter advice. Sheeran even gave Warne the royal seal of approval, telling Prince Harry to go and party with him in what must have been one of the strangest nights out ever.
It should be noted though, that their apparent friendship wasn’t reason enough for Warnie to include Sheeran in his infamous #warniemural, a terrifying portrait that hangs in his Melbourne home and depicts a backyard barbecue scene, featuring Warnie smashing VBs alongside the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Mick Jagger, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Angelina Jolie, Michael Clarke, Coldplay’s Chris Martin and more.
