Radiohead’s short film Daydreaming will debut at TIFF’s Bell Lightbox – it is the only place the film will be played.
“Daydreaming” is the second single from Radiohead’s A Moon Shaped Pool album, and it was released this week. The 35mm film of the same name was directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, who has worked on other musician’s flicks, like Joanna Newsom and Fiona Apple. According to TIFF, the 35mm film canister arrived with a note that read “We’ve made a film, here it is. We’d be happy if you played it!'” (blogTO).
Radiohead, who is scheduled to perform this summer at Montreal’s Osheaga festival, had been garnering a lot of buzz in the last few weeks after they were slowing “disappearing” from the internet, removing their social media profiles as well as music from iTunes.
